A wee bit of paradise…

“Portofino is a lovely property with just right amount of cabanas to make you truly feel like a guest instead of ‘one of many.’ The resort is attractive, comfortable, and sits right in the beachside. The staff is helpful, friendly and accommodating. Lunch was my favorite meal out under the sea grape tree with the grackles and iguanas. We tended to linger there way beyond the fish and chips, watching the wildlife and listening to the surf break out in the reef. Who knows about night, we crashed early and slept like babies. A welcome and much needed sleep.”
Worth knowing: There’s a lot of construction going on on Ambergris Cay and the sound of dump trucks early in the morning was well, too much like reality. One day it will be finished and the sound of the pounding surf will rightfully win in the music of the breaking day again.

Worth knowing: Location (road needs lots of improvements), beach (not really swimmable)

“Loved the location and the pool and the beach area. Staff was nice and helpful. Lots of good amenities. Food was really good also.”
Worth knowing: Bed was not in the greatest shape. They allowed other people from rental properties next door to use the pool. A bunch of kids took up the space so we couldn’t enjoy our own pool at the resort.

“The staff here was amazing. They were kind and attentive. The cabana we stayed in was clean and comfortable. We ate the food here every day and everything was delicious.I would recommend this place if you are visiting San Pedro.”
