Privacy Policy

1. The short version

You can read every guide on Hotelaholic without an account and without giving us your name, email address or payment details. We never take bookings or payments here, so we never hold your booking or card data.

2. What we collect

• Outbound click records. When you click through to a hotel we record the hotel, its position in the list, the page you came from, an anonymous session identifier and a reference code, so bookings can be attributed. These records are not linked to a named person.
• Technical request data. Standard server and hosting logs (IP address, browser type, time of request) used to run the site securely and diagnose faults.
• Administrator accounts. If you sign in to the private admin area, we store your email address and sign-in records for that account only.

3. What we do not store

We do not store guest review text: it is loaded live from our data provider each time you open a hotel and is discarded afterwards. We do not copy hotel photographs onto our servers; they are shown from the provider's own image links. We do not quote prices, taxes or availability, and we do not sell personal data or share it with advertisers.

4. Affiliate tracking

Links to our booking partner carry a reference code identifying this site as the source of the booking, so that any commission is attributed correctly. This code identifies the article, not you.

5. Cookies and similar technology

We use a small amount of browser storage to keep an anonymous session identifier for click attribution, and cookies that are strictly necessary for signing in to the admin area. We do not run third-party advertising cookies. Blocking cookies will not stop you reading the guides.

6. Who processes data for us

We use service providers to host the site, store our database and authenticate administrators, to supply hotel data (LiteAPI), and to generate editorial drafts. They process data only on our instructions. When you follow a link to book.hotelaholic.com or any other site, that site’s own privacy policy applies from that point on.

7. Retention

Click and log records are kept only as long as needed for attribution, security and reporting, and are then deleted or aggregated. Cached hotel details are refreshed roughly every 30 days so what we show stays current.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the personal data we hold about you, or to object to its processing. Because we hold very little identifiable data, we may need details that let us locate any records relating to you. Requests go to privacy@hotelaholic.com.

9. Children

The site is intended for adults planning travel and is not directed at children under 13.
