“Absolutely beautiful. The staff were amazing. Everything in our villa was perfect. The private pool was beautiful, set in a walled garden The whole hotel is private, quiet and set in beautiful gardens Views from the pool, restaurant and lounge were lovely. We were treated like royalty for 3 days. The staff were so lovely, checking on our every need. We enjoyed the village walk and Jamu cooking lesson included in our stay. Well done Uma Kalai.👏👏👏👏👏”
Worth knowing: The food at the restaurant was good but not up to the standard of the accommodation and the service. The beautiful setting and service made up for this though.

“An unforgettable honeymoon stay We spent four nights at Uma Kalai for our honeymoon, and we had an absolutely wonderful experience. The villa itself was beautiful and exceptionally well designed. The bedroom, spacious bathroom with its own steam room, separate living room and private pool area all felt incredibly luxurious, yet warm and peaceful. The private pool was a particular highlight — it felt like a natural extension of the room, creating a wonderful sense of privacy and making the whole villa feel like our own little world. Everything was immaculate and beautifully maintained. The attention to detail throughout the stay was remarkable. Our room was perfectly arranged every day, and the cleanliness of both the villa and pool area was exceptional. Despite being surrounded by nature, we hardly encountered any insects, which was genuinely impressive. The staff were equally wonderful. Every member of the team knew who we were and communicated seamlessly with each other. They were thoughtful and proactive, often anticipating what we might need for our daily plans — even preparing sarongs and towels and making sure they reached our driver before we did. Breakfast and the food were excellent, and the massage was also fantastic.”

“This is a beautiful and very serene boutique property with amazing facilities and exceptional service. The villa we stayed in was luxurious and the heated plunge pool was a dream. I love the location just on the edge of Ubud with gorgeous views of the rice fields and the mountains in the distance.”
