Disappointed with El Golpe de Vista - a hard punch!

“The Hotel is in a great location just behind The Rosewood Hotel and it has a lovely view of the Centro from the roof terrace restaurant. The building has classic cantera marble details which are very pretty and several public artworks from Mexican artists. Parking was complementary.”
Worth knowing: Our room did not have views (a true golpe de vista) from either window. We looked into a blank concrete wall/air space between us and the neighboring building. The linens and robes were worn out. The bathroom lighting was inadequate and very dark. There were no wash cloths in the bathrooms. There was only room service continental breakfast, but no table to adequately accommodate the tray. We had to use the bed as a serving surface. The mini bar was very cluttered with items for sale with expired dates. The cluttered bar space made it difficult to use the Nespresso machine. The maid did not wash out the frothing/hot milk machine. I felt nervous about using the glasses and cups because I felt maybe they hadn’t been cleaned properly.

“Beautiful hotel on great location. Rooms are super nice. The staff is super nice. And the food is super good. And the view of the roof top terrace is stunning!!! Definitely recommended!”
Worth knowing: Only too bad that the restaurant in the roof top closes at 9.30pm. We wanted to go for a drink but that was not possible.
