“We stayed here on our trip to Oban for one night. We were welcomed by cigarette smoke from some of the workers on the entrance to the hotel. The hotel is charming and our room was nice. We had to sit down in the bath tub to shower as there was no shower doors or curtain in the bathroom. Bed was comfortable.”

“First let me say our overall stay at the hotel was very good, but the value for the money? When we arrived at check in late afternoon, I was at first shocked when they told me that we could not have the cottage which we had reserved. However they graciously upgraded us to two upstairs rooms with a Lakeview at no additional charge. The rooms were Ichrachan and Tervine. Both were very spacious and nice. Had I paid full price for the rooms, I would have been very disappointed. I happen to also look at the cottage as we drove in, and I'm glad that we did not get that location, as it was a very long distance from the main house. Dinner was very good, although probably about 30 to 40% overpriced. The biggest issue I think for any traveler would be the extended drive on a single lane road through about 12 to 14 miles of countryside in order to arrive at the hotel. This does provide outstanding solitude. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and very helpful. I would recommend this hotel for someone who desires a tremendous amount of solitude, since the closest town of any significance is about a 30 to 45 minute drive away.”
