“The rooms, the pools, the spa”
Worth knowing: Room wasn’t ready at check in, according to hotel instructions at 4pm, in reality almost at 6pm. At Check out we had to wait more than 1 hour in our room with our luggage already packed as staff claimed they were too busy. Until we hiked all the way to the lobby and complained, then things started moving. After paying almost 1500 usd per night, this is hardly acceptable.

“My wife and I truly enjoyed our stay at Calamigos Ranch resort and spa. The moment you step onto the property you feel as you’ve been transported to another place and time. The grounds are beautiful, serene and impeccably maintained. Our room was beautiful, comfortable and thoughtfully appointed making it the perfect place to relax after the day’s activities. Every interaction we had with staff was exceptional. The service from the front desk, housekeeping, the spa, and the pool team was warm, professional, and attentive. This level of service was extended to our dog, from his own bedding to specially cooked meals at the restaurant. Everyone went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and cared for. Celebrating our anniversary at Calamigos has become one of our favorite annual traditions. Year after year, it continues to exceed our expectations. “Our stay at Calamigos Ranch Resort and Spa was truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with such warmth and genuine hospitality. Estefany made the check-in process incredible and immediately set the tone for the entire experience. The property itself feels almost surreal. Every part of the ranch is beautiful, peaceful, and thoughtfully designed. Our room was spacious and luxurious, and the facilities throughout the resort were exceptional. We enjoyed the pools, spa, and fitness center, and each added something special to our stay. We also had an amazing experience at The Ranch Club Restaurant. Jered, Scott, and Michael took incredible care of us at every meal, but especially during breakfast. Their kindness, attentiveness, and hospitality made us feel genuinely welcomed each day. The management team was equally magnificent. Burto and Cassidy went above and beyond to make sure our experience was special, and their care was evident throughout our stay. Calamigos is much more than a beautiful resort. It is the people who make the entire experience so memorable. We left feeling incredibly grateful for the hospitality we received and cannot wait to return.”

“My husband Jay and I recently stayed at Calamigos Ranch Resort & Spa to celebrate his early retirement, and from the moment we arrived until the moment we left, we truly felt like honored guests. This was an easy 5-star experience, and we cannot wait to come back. As Leaders Club members, we were pleasantly surprised with complimentary breakfast delivered to our room each morning. Room service was consistently prompt, and the online ordering system was incredibly easy to navigate, making everything feel seamless and convenient. What truly sets Calamigos apart is its people. Every single team member we encountered was warm, welcoming, and genuinely cared about making our stay special. We’d especially like to recognize Jose and James from valet, Martin and Josh at the main pool, and Fernando and Dylan at The Ranch Club. Each of them went above and beyond with exceptional hospitality, kindness, and professionalism. The property itself is absolutely breathtaking. Every corner feels thoughtfully designed, peaceful, immaculate, and luxurious, while still maintaining a lively atmosphere with light music playing throughout the grounds. It strikes the perfect balance between relaxation and energy. The food exceeded every expectation. Whether we were dining at The Ranch Club, ordering room service, or enjoying lunch by the pool, the quality never wavered. From the perfectly cooked filet mignon to the chicken fingers (yes, even the chicken fingers!), every meal was outstanding. We originally booked a Single Bungalow but were graciously upgraded to an Estate Room, and we were completely blown away. The interior design was elegant and inviting, every piece felt intentionally curated, the room was spotless, the towels were crisp and pristine, the pearly white soaking tub was gorgeous, the bedding and pillows were incredibly comfortable, and the Calamigos robes were such a thoughtful luxury touch. It felt like the perfect place to unwind and celebrate. Every amenity reflected the same level of care. Both the Main Pool and Estate Pool were exceptionally clean and well maintained, and Gentry Market quickly became one of our favorite spots. They serve the best mocktails we’ve ever had. Most importantly, we felt genuinely valued throughout our stay. Every interaction left us feeling respected, cared for, and appreciated. And finally, we have to give the biggest thank you to Kurt Johnston. Kurt is the definition of world-class hospitality. From the day we booked our stay until the day we checked out, he made us feel like VIPs. He anticipated our needs before we even had to ask, checked in on us throughout our visit, and made every part of our celebration feel personal. He even arranged an unforgettable experience for us at Mastro’s, where we received exceptional service that made our celebration even more memorable. His attention to detail, generosity, professionalism, and genuine kindness are incredibly rare. Employees like Kurt elevate and define a brand. Calamigos is truly fortunate to have someone of his caliber representing their property. Every dollar spent was absolutely worth it.
