The stay, in detail
Dining & drinks
Camp Richardson Resort is a Tahoe tradition for over a century, a quintessential Lake Tahoe resort on the south shore on Highway 89 (Emerald Bay Road), operated under Special Use Permit with the USDA Forest Service, Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit. The year-round resort offers a variety of lodging — the 1926 Historic Hotel, year-round and summer heritage cabins, the Beachside Inn on the Tahoe shoreline, and the Richardson House for larger groups — plus over 200 tent sites in two campgrounds (Badger's Den on the lake side and Eagle's Nest across the street) and an RV campground. Guests have easy access to lake recreation (kayaking, paddleboarding, boating, swimming), hiking, mountain biking, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing, plus on-site amenities including the lakeside Grove restaurant, general store and deli, ice cream parlor, coffee and confectionery, and mountain sports center with watercraft rentals. Minutes from Heavenly Mountain Resort and Sierra-at-Tahoe.
Strict no pet policy (service dogs only).

Review in focus
The best thing about a stay at Camp Richardson is Lake Tahoe. The location is ideal for strolling, exploring, and enjoying the lake. We had the place to ourselves visiting in late October. Very tranquil.
