We spent a few days at The Farnam after driving in from Texas to drop our son off at college, and the staff truly went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful.
The exceptional service began before we even arrived. I called several days ahead about arranging a delivery to the hotel, and Camille took detailed notes and made sure the rest of the staff knew to expect it.
When we arrived, Dereck —valet, bellman, and concierge extraordinaire—met us at the car. From that first interaction, he remembered our names and consistently made us feel genuinely welcome. Sam at the front desk was equally wonderful, taking great care to find us a fabulous room that met all our needs and continuing to greet us by name throughout our stay.
It’s rare to find a hotel where the service feels this personal. The staff at The Farnam made an already special trip even more memorable.

“Beautiful hotel in pristine condition. Excellent service from the moment we stepped out of our car to valet park for our three day stay to check in for our beautiful large, clean and incredibly comfortable room. We were on the top floor with a spectacular view of the city, Missouri River and incredibly beautiful city park below. The bed was one of the most comfortable beds I have slept in. The restaurant, the Dynamite Grill, had excellent food for the breakfasts and dinner we ate at the hotel. The wait staff was excellent, as well. The bell and valet staff were exceptional! The entire hotel staff ran this place like a 10! We will return. Thank you”

Alyssa in the front desk/registration was incredible. She is the type of professional that any company would love to have. Not only does she excel at her job she is incredibly helpful. A true gem for The Farnam. I was welcomed by Derrick as I arrived. Over the top personality. Incredible people. The hotel is a 10. The rooms are excellent, the restaurant and bar excellent as well. If you are visiting Omaha The Farnam is the place to stay.”

“What a great find of an exceptional hotel in the heart of Omaha. As always, it’s the staff; this place’s staff is truly superb, especially Sam. With one Sunday night stay, we experienced their premium suite/room: City Visionary. A corner suite on the 7th floor with floor to ceiling windows, and starts with a living room with wet bar and granite topped island (with separate heating & cooling controls). Lovely, large, double sink bath, with hand wand and rain shower (large enough for 2+). King size bed down the hall with an excellent mattress, wrap-around views and wonderful lighting. A must stay! Located near plenty of entertainment and dining options. Only knock is hidden or limited garbage cans. Enjoy!”

“Picture this. You’ve just arrived in downtown Omaha after a 3-hour drive from Kansas City for date number two with an absolute stunner you met on a dating app. No, it wasn’t Hinge. But I digress.
It was my second trip to Omaha ever, and this time I’d be enjoying a staycation at the Farnam hotel with the aforementioned stunner who would parade me around downtown Omaha so I could take in all it had to offer.
I pulled up to the curb and was greeted by Derech. The word “greeted” is really an understatement. I felt honored, if not almost famous, as Derech welcomed me to the Farnam Hotel. “Your Jeep is incredible brother” he stated as he opened the door of my 4” lifted 2023 392 Red Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. It’s important I note these details because Derech pointed them all out in addition to my massive 38” tires. At this time, Derech had waved down his GM to take a look at my Jeep. Three grown men admiring a gorgeous piece of equipment curbside at the Farnam Hotel was not on my bingo card to start the weekend.
Derech asked me my last name for my valet ticket. “Paradise”, I said. “Paradise?! That’s your real last name? That’s badass bro. Right this way, we are going to take good care of you here at the Farnam.”
I explained it was my first time as I was handed a chilled glass of champagne by one of the four employees currently helping check me in at the front desk. The attentive and friendly staff made me feel like I was someone famous and was treated as such. When I explained I was here for date number two with a girl who lived in Omaha, they were all instantly on Team Paradise and told me they'd make sure we had everything we needed for a special weekend.
Derech asked me what I wanted to get into, and after giving him some of the food and drink experiences I was interested in, he fired off a perfectly curated agenda. Derech walked me to my elevator, which, in all my travels staying at hotels all over the world, was a first. The bellman personally walked me to my elevator. I thought maybe he would join me in my room because at this time, I felt we were best friends, but Derech knew my date would be arriving soon, and I wanted her to feel the royal treatment I just had upon my arrival, so his job was to locate her in the lobby and make sure she got a chilled glass of champagne as well.
And now, the reason I’m writing this review. This was the moment everything came together, and why I will never stay anywhere else when I go to Omaha. My date had arrived, and after having a drink in the room, we headed to the lobby. On our way down, I explained how incredible the staff was and how everyone seemed invested in our story. I could tell she didn’t really believe me or understand how invested the staff at Farnam was, but then we entered the lobby, and as we walked past the front desk, the girl working went, “Mr. Paradise, we are glad to see you. Hope you two have a great time together.”
My date looked at me, and it clicked to her that this staff was extremely friendly, outgoing, and invested. It was in this moment that she realized I wasn’t totally full of it, and all the interactions and treatment I’d experienced were genuine and real. This staff helped me really set the tone for what ended up being an epic night.
Derech was there to see us off, and he and my date quickly discussed their ideas for our night out to make sure I felt the full impact and magic of downtown Omaha. The rest is history. I’m writing this review six weeks after my stay. I told the Farnam I would write it the next day, and I regret it’s taken me this long, but alas, here it is. My review.
And sitting next to me after her second weekend visit to Kansas City is my Omaha stunner. She’s working. I’m writing. We are both smiling. Life is good. Thanks to the Farnam, your staff, our bartender Sarah, and a special thanks to the greatest bellman/concierge manager in all the land, Derech.”

“I booked this hotel for a birthday staycation for a guy I’m dating, and the experience exceeded all expectations. From the moment we arrived, Sam went above and beyond by upgrading the room I had reserved to an incredible suite. It completely elevated the celebration and made his birthday feel extra special.
The entire staff was welcoming and attentive, and you can tell they genuinely care about their guests. We also had an amazing dinner at Dynamite Woodfire Grill hotel restaurant — everything was delicious — and the Catalyst cocktail lounge had such a cool atmosphere with fantastic drinks.
Thank you to Sam and the whole team for turning a simple birthday stay into such a memorable experience. We’ll absolutely be back!”
